Palin clears herself of any wrongdoing

As if by magic, the McCain-Palin campaign has pre-empted today’s official state ethics report, with their own report which completely clears Palin of any wrongdoing.

Sarah Palin and her family are accused of abusing her office to settle a long-running family feud - the much discussed “Troopergate” scandal.

Talking Points Memo reports ::

Lawmakers are expected to release their own findings Friday. Campaign officials have yet to see that report — the result of an investigation that began before she was tapped as McCain’s running mate — but said the investigation has falsely portrayed a legitimate policy dispute between a governor and her commissioner as something inappropriate.

I suppose the McCain team should be commended for getting their retaliation in early. It’ll be interesting to see how they spin the two reports if the official one criticises the Governor.

UPDATE ::

MSNBC - “The move came hours after the state Supreme Court refused to halt the ethics investigation.”

Hmmmm.

UPDATE 2 ::

Palin has been found guilty by the independent report of violating “the trust Alaskans placed in her as their governor”. The McCain Campaign has called the report “partisan”, even though the investigation was initiated by a majority Republican vote. Oh, and Tod Palin has been exposed as a dim-witted moron and a liability. Just sayin’.

Well, is this the day Obama won the election? Or is it realistic to assume that swing voters would largely ignore a potential conflict of interest and abuse of power of someone heading for one of the top jobs in the country?

Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is guilty of abuse of power, according to a probe by the state legislature.

The Republican vice-presidential candidate was accused of sacking a senior state official, Walter Monegan, in connection with a family feud.

The verdict could have a significant effect on Republicans hopes of winning next month’s US presidential election.

Mrs Palin denies any wrongdoing, and her supporters say the charges are motivated by her political opponents.

She stood accused of firing Mr Monegan for refusing to sack a state trooper who was in a bitter custody battle with her sister.

The report concluded a family grudge was not the sole reason for the dismissal, but was a likely contributing factor.

In an election dominated by the change agenda, a reminder of the “good” times seems more detrimental than ever.

Sarah Palin made much of Senator Obama’s relationship with Weather Underground terrorist Bill Ayers.

But Ayers seems just a pussycat compared with his wife, Weather Underground terrorist Bernadine Dohrn.

Here’s how she reacted to the murders of Sharon Tate and friends by Charles Manson’s gang :

Holding her fingers in what became the Weatherman “fork salute,” she said… “Dig it! First they killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them. They even shoved a fork into the victim’s stomach! Wild!”

This woman is now an Associate Professor of Law at Northwestern University, where she is also Director of the Legal Clinic’s Children and Family Justice Center.

And when her pal Obama becomes President, what will she be then? Attorney General?

Maybe there’s something to be said for Palin after all.

Ah, all praise The One, the great messiah who hasn’t ever had a proper job and hasn’t actually done anything in the political sphere he inhabits, except write 2 autobiogs. The man is an empty suit who stands for ‘change’ - to what, and how, who knows? All we can say is that it will require increased taxes for those who already pay substantial portions of their income and a lot of empty rhetoric to back it up.

Oblahblah is a cipher, beloved of fawning ‘progressives’ who now constitute the Establishment. Take a look at those photos of the idiots wearing ‘Sarah Palin Is A Cunt’ teeshirts at the Palin rally in Phili to really understand what ‘liberal’ free speech is all about.

@4: unlike “I once met someone who knew someone who knew Obama” Dohm, Sarah Palin is, erm, standing for vice president…

It doesn’t say great things for our political culture that association with these loons* is considered to be absolutely abhorrent, whereas having Henry Kissinger as an adviser is perfectly acceptable.

* I mean, the Weathermen were crap. They took 200 people to a rally that they’d promised would be 25,000 strong, were saved from harsh charges by the fact that COINTELPRO infiltrators had committed the same crimes and capped it off by blowing up their founder.
