Nadine Dorries’ hypocrisy makes news

From Bedford Today, which is Nadine Dorries MP’s local paper:

Mid Beds MP Nadine Dorries has apologised to a watchdog following a complaint she had misused her website. Last week the Conservative MP for Mid Beds said she had been cleared by the Parliamentary commissioner for standards after a political campaigner alleged she had failed to make a clear distinction between her publicly-funded website and her personal ‘blog’.

But the Chronicle now understands that Ms Dorries was required to make changes to the site. A spokesman for the commissioner said: “This has been resolved through an informal resolution. “Ms Dorries was asked to put right the things that were wrong and she has made an apology to the commissioner.

Maybe that will teach Iain Dale to be more careful next time before he takes Ms Dorries for her word.

Why would Dale not take her word, she is a Tory, and that is all poor little Ian needs to know.

Erm, what’s changed? It was obv no big deal. Your witch hunt against Nadine is essentially sexist in the way the Democrats are sexist against Palin. Wrong kind of woman, and too genuine for her own good.

Hilarious

Palin Genuine?

Well yes, if you think it’s a virtue to be a Right wing Christian moron who thinks the world is a few thousand years old ,and that man played with dinosaurs like on the Flintstones. If you think that being able to see Russia from your window makes you a foreign affairs expert. I can see the moon form my window, but I don’t claim to an expert on astronomy.

Pathetic, the assertion that if you don’t like Dorries you are sexist, because Dorries represents all women, is the most insidiously sexist bollocks possible. Women should be seen as individuals, rather than representatives of their gender, the way men are.

Pathetic,

There are a series of things I can’t stand about Palins’ politics and her religious beliefs. How the heck is that sexist? You are just using a buzz word to cut off debate. I don’t see John McCain being accused of being racist when he attacks Obamas’ positions. At least, not yet.,….

To be a woman in Right wing politics means spending your time supporting ideas that hold back other woman. Same with Blacks. It’s the Clarance Thomas syndrome. Thomas spends most of his time making rulings that hurt other blacks, and overthrowning gains that have been made since the 60’s. But hey, if getting in to the country club is all that matters to you, this what you must do.

Genuine and correct are not synonyms: Palin/Dorries can say what they honestly believe/believe is right, but this does not make it true. Equally, affirmation is not evidence and assertion is not proof.

Dale is definitely treading a fine line with his assertive partisanship, because while he calculates he gains by riding on the coat-tails of a Conservative upswing, he will lose credibility if he attempts to jumps ship when the political wind shifts, as it always does.

Did anyone else notice the drop-off in the quality of posts made on his diary as he began being taken seriously?

We should support a progressive candidate to expose her lies on the ground in her own constituency, then smash her at the polls at the next general election. We need to start reducing the impending Tory majority in 2010!
