Back to the usual schedule, welcome to Thursday and the cusp of the best month in the year. You can check out my extended list that will be up on my blog, and I’m sure Jennie would encourage you to lambast me about my lack of ability to see the supposed sexism in the new Batman film. Tips to the usual place, or in the comments!
The bleeding heart show - Neil has a great insight in to the female side of our prison population
Neil Harding - Is it time for Labour to take hold of the English Parliament idea and run with it?
Peter Kenyon - Peter rues the missed opportunity for giving Brown credibility from the start.
Max Dunbar - Religion only does good, right?
Ministry of truth - It’s the Mark Brewer saga, and it’s still going. Let’s not forget this is still going on.
Open Democracy - The ongoing Ethiopia situation should perhaps shame some of those concerned over the rising cost of driving to work.
John Pugh - Watch out, the next scourge is coming. Time to ban exercise weights for the burden they place on the NHS.
Casting back:
Antonia’s blog (2005) - A look back at a view on school selection.
I don’t know about Batman being sexist, but Maggie Gyllenhaal was so hot…
She’s so hot she’s making me sexist.
Really? I was so disturbed by the lack of totty of either sex that I started fancying Ned Flanders Gordon in some places… Although Ramirez would have been quite tasty if she had gone crazy-evil instead of weak-please-my-mum-is-in-hospital evil…
You obviously weren’t looking at hostage #3456-c then, hummina hummina.
The PM is a hero. While on vacation he saved a man who was dornwing this story has not been reported on in the media as he is too modest he even refused the medal offerred to him.
Maggie Gyllenhaal is about as hot as they get!
Have you ever seen Secretary??? Now that’s a feminist piece…

I’m listening. Pls explain.
No, I haven’t, and having seen the synopsis, I don’t think I’d want to.
I think she looks good in the pictures I’ve seen in the press, but I thought she looked AWFUL in the film.
* shrug *
YMMV.

:o) I may have been teasing.

You take THAT BACK!
No, I’m serious. I thought she looked old and wrinkly, and had eyes like Barry Norman.
Mat assures me that he didn’t notice that, but…
“You take THAT BACK!”
And goodness, Heath Ledger has a sexy laugh…
Ben
Heath Ledger was (literally) frighteningly good.
Best supporting actor has to be in the bag.
Seconded, although Christian Bale was a bit of a disappointment. He’s never quite equalled his performance in the Machinist (which was truly frightening, despite the hordes of cliched imagery around him).
6 minutes left of National Orgasm Day, boys, and you’re still talking about Batman?
And the sexiest person ever associated with the franchise HAS to be Eartha Kitt
