This is why they are not in favour of publicising their expenses! MPs must have some cheek to cap public sector workers' pay to 2.5% or so over the next three years, with rampant inflation and to take away the 10p in the pound tax rate - again hitting poorly paid workers. Dave Nellist is still around - campaigning in Coventry as the sitting Socialist Alternative Councillor, and still pledges to take only the average wage of a skilled worker. He is also the chair of the campaign for a new workers party (www.cnwp.org.uk). As voters, we can be as unreasonable as we like!
